Shop Truck
Pending1958 GMC Apache
"Patchwork Apache"
Dragged out of a field at a storage unit auction — this big back window Fleetside is becoming the DIRRTY CUSTOMS shop truck. Supercharged. All-wheel drive. Because a basic build wasn't an option.
Build Concept
Unable to Leave a Basic Build Alone.
This 1958 GMC Apache big back window Fleetside was pulled from a field at a storage unit auction — the kind of find that makes the title process interesting and gives you plenty of time to plan while the paperwork sorts itself out. The plan that emerged was anything but basic.
The drivetrain is a supercharged 6.0L iron LS backed by a stout 4L80 transmission — proven combination, serious power. But the part that makes the Patchwork Apache genuinely unique is what comes next: a full AWD conversion using a Trailblazer SS transfer case, 5th Gen Camaro rear IRS suspension, and a mix of Silverado SS and Trailblazer SS front components — all engineered to fit within the factory frame rails while delivering independent suspension front and rear.
The 3D modeling work to adapt these components to the factory frame — finding the right geometry, hubs, and mounting points to achieve proper stance while maintaining the structural integrity of the original frame — is being done in-house at DIRRTY CUSTOMS. This isn't a kit solution. It's an engineering problem being solved from scratch.
The name says it all: Camaro, Trailblazer, Silverado, and Apache parts stitched together into something Wyoming roads can't stop. Patina exterior. Clean, comfortable interior with heated seats, navigation, and modern amenities. Short bed conversion from the original long bed. Built to work hard and look good doing it — year round, in whatever Wyoming decides to throw at it.

Key Modifications & Parts
6.0L Iron LS — Magnuson Supercharged
A proven iron block 6.0L LS topped with a Magnuson supercharger and backed by a stout 4L80 transmission. Targeting around 600 all-wheel horsepower.
AWD — Trailblazer SS Transfer Case
Full AWD conversion using a Trailblazer SS transfer case adapted to the 4L80 — because a supercharged shop truck that can't handle Wyoming winters isn't doing its job.
Independent Suspension — Front & Rear
5th Gen Camaro rear IRS and a Silverado SS / Trailblazer SS front setup — all engineered in-house via 3D modeling to fit the factory Apache frame rails with proper geometry and stance.
Long-to-Short Bed Conversion
Original long bed swapped for a short bed — cleaner proportions, better stance, still a proper truck.
Patina Exterior — Clean Interior
The exterior character stays. Inside gets a clean, comfortable treatment — heated seats, navigation, modern amenities. A truck that works as hard as it looks.
