Build Concept

Modern Power. Timeless Presence. Zero Cuts.

Finding a clean 1962 Lincoln Continental Convertible is a Holy Grail moment for any builder — long, low, suicide doors, and a presence that turns heads without trying. This one was found 1,500 miles away while wating for a wedding to kick-off, and eventually the decision was made to build it as a proper modern cruiser worthy of the platform. Project Pangea. Because every supercontinent deserves a super Continental.

The heart of the build is the DIRRTY CUSTOMS 7.3L Godzilla swap kit — the same no-cut kit available in our shop, proven right here on our own build first. A Ford 7.3L Godzilla V8 paired with a 4R70W automatic with overdrive is a nod to the big torquey MEL engines that made these Lincolns legendary, with 60 years of engineering improvement behind it. Factory steering components are retained — proving the kit works exactly as advertised without modification.

Maintaining the factory structure while cleaning up 60 years of deferred maintenance takes some time for a proper build. The Continental's iconic slab-side profile remains completely intact while allowing extra wide rear wheels to plant the power from the 7.3L. Custom 20" wheels with notably wider rear tires than any comparable build, it wil sit exactly as it should.

A full air ride management system with iPhone app control will keep the stance dialed wherever it needs to be. Inside, a factory-styled dash will host Dakota Digital gauges and a double-DIN head unit with full navigation and Bluetooth. The seats will wear rich leather upholstery matched to the original "Medium Chestnut Metallic" interior — a rare color option with a red-brown shimmer that's almost impossible to find on these cars today.

Pearl white paint modernizes the original white exterior. A blue convertible top — not original, but it's grown on us — completes an unintentionally patriotic theme. Pearl white body, chestnut red interior, blue top. On a car that once considered a peak Presidential ride. Some things just make sense.

Key Modifications & Parts

DIRRTY CUSTOMS 7.3L Godzilla Swap Kit

The same no-cut bolt-in kit available in our shop — engine mounts, transmission crossmember, and custom stainless steel headers — proven right here on our own build. Factory steering retained throughout.

Hidden Wide Rear Wheel Wells

Factory quarter panels removed, inner wheel wells fully rebuilt for significantly wider rubber, skins reinstalled. The slab-side profile looks completely stock. The tire width tells a different story.

Full Air Ride — iPhone App Management

Full air ride management system with iPhone app control. Stance on demand, wherever it needs to be.

Full Disc Brake Conversion — Electric Power Assist

Four wheel disc brakes with electric power assisted braking — modern stopping capability without vacuum dependency.

Factory-Styled Interior — Rare Chestnut Upholstery

Dakota Digital gauges in a factory-styled dash. Double-DIN head unit with nav and Bluetooth. Factory seats reupholstered in rich leather matched to the rare "Medium Chestnut Metallic" original interior color — a red-brown shimmer almost impossible to find today.

Pearl White Paint & Convertible Top Rebuild

Pearl white modernizes the original white exterior. Fully rebuilt convertible top in blue — not original, but it's grown on us. Some things just work.

20" Wheels — Wider Than Any Comparable Build

20" wheels with notably wider rear rubber than factory or basic builds allow — made possible by the hidden wheel well work. Looks right. Sits right. Handles right.

Modern AC & Full Sound System

Modern air conditioning and a killer full sound system — because a cruiser this good deserves to be comfortable at any temperature.
