Fun Family Car
In Progress2014 Chevrolet SS
"SS Low" — Because It's Lowered. Not Slow.
The most underrated performance sedan sold in America — a rear-wheel drive, V8-powered family car that most people drove right past on the dealer lot. We didn't.
Build Concept
Four Doors. Zero Excuses.
The Chevy SS is one of the most criminally overlooked performance cars of the last decade. Rear-wheel drive, LS3 V8, Holden-based platform — essentially a Camaro SS in a four-door family sedan body. Most people walked past it at the dealership without a second look. That's exactly what makes it perfect.
Ours came with headers, exhaust, and lowering springs already sorted — a solid foundation to build on. The plan is an LSA supercharger from a ZL1 Camaro, a performance torque converter, and a PD Stage 2 cam — all managed by the factory ECM tuned via HP Tuners. Clean, factory-appearing, and hitting an estimated 550-600 horsepower to the wheels.
It's our go-to road trip car. Seats the whole family comfortably, gets respectable fuel economy, and will embarrass cars that cost three times as much when the situation calls for it. The plate reads SS LOW — most people assume it means slow. They assume wrong.

Key Modifications & Parts
LSA Supercharger — ZL1 Camaro
ZL1 Camaro LSA supercharger on the factory LS3 — the proven combination for extracting serious power from the platform without sacrificing daily drivability.
PD Stage 2 Cam & Performance Converter
PD Stage 2 camshaft and a performance torque converter — dialing in the power curve to work with the supercharger and make the most of every RPM.
Factory ECM — HP Tuners Custom Tune
Factory ECM retained and custom tuned via HP Tuners to account for the supercharger and cam. Clean factory appearance under the hood — nothing to see here.
Headers, Exhaust & Lowering Springs
Came to us already equipped with full headers, exhaust, and lowering springs — a solid foundation that the supercharger build sits on top of. Previous owner did good work.
